The Society of Process Educators

We are pleased to announce a new program to honor approximately fifty of our greatest annual contributors who have done the most to advance the research and practice of Process Education. Both through scholarly activities and their efforts to increase the effectiveness of their own teaching practices, these exemplary individuals have increased student learning and success.

This program has evolved through the convergence of a number of separate but complimentary initiatives. Individuals selected for this recognition annually commit to the following:

  • Making a scholarly contribution to the Faculty Guidebook.

  • Disseminating best practices by presenting at the annual conference of Process Educators.

  • Participating as an agent of change in a dialog (both locally and nationally) about improving the quality of higher education.

  • Preparing to assume either the role of facilitator of Pacific Crest sponsored institutes or the role of a consultant to institutions seeking assistance to improve their effectiveness.

This new program offers a "Win-Win-Win" proposition. Society members win by gaining significant opportunities for personal and professional growth. As participants fulfill their annual commitments to the program, they will be networking within a community of similarly dedicated individuals. They will also benefit from receiving both peer recognition and a small honorarium. Colleges and universities win because Society members will disseminate the knowledge they gain throughout their institutions. In turn, these institutions will benefit from the enhanced leadership skills Society members will gain through their participation. Pacific Crest wins because this initiative will help us more effectively realize our mission.
