Starting in January of 2015, Pacific Crest instituted a community outreach program in partnership with Hampton United Methodist Church. Pacific Crest donated its services and supplies in order to share the benefits of Process Education and Learning to Learn with parents, teachers, and ultimately the students of the New Hampshire Seacost. Hampton is where Dan Apple and his family live and this was his way of giving back to his community.

1. Help train parents and/or educators so that they are able to significantly improve the education and sense of empowerment of the children of the Seacoast.
2. Assist at least 75 children (ranging from incoming 9th graders to incoming college students) in becoming ready to succeed in college.
3. Develop a program of ongoing support for community based-education in order to increase the college success of families on the Seacoast.

To achieve these goals, Dan offered a series of workshops:

This preparation work culminated in a 1-week Learning to Learn Camp August 3-7, staffed by parents of participating students with Dan as lead facilitator. Though there was no charge for the camp, parents were asked to donate what they could afford, with all donations going to HUMC.

The feedback we received was SO POSITIVE that Dan has agreed to donate his time and energy again in 2016 to offer the same series of events with the same goals in mind.
