We are pleased to announce the newest member of our Foundational Series in Mathematics: Foundations of Pre-Algebra. This text picks up where Foundations of Mathematics leaves off. The presentation and activity components are the same, with the continued emphasis on students learning how to learn and how to improve their ability to learn as well as their performance with mathematical content.

Students are challenged with real world problems and shown models and examples of how their growing mathematical skills translate directly into larger ‘life skills.’ There is a playful aspect to all of this and students are increasingly encouraged to work as teams and to use web resources and learning objects to further strengthen and validate their growth.

Foundations of Pre-Algebra will be available for adoption in Fall 2008.
