Jennifer Offers Some Self-Analysis on Her Level of Performance
I’d really like to think of myself as a self-starter, but I’m not there yet. I
start out strong, but sometimes I don’t follow through. My aunt kept my
interest in writing going, and having a few friends that spoke Spanish
made me want to speak with them without sounding like a
gringa
.
I think I can honestly say I’m a Level 3, though, a “responsive
individual.” I’m a decent problem-solver, and I’m usually positive
about school and life. I was on different teams in high school,
including the yearbook team, but I know college might be different.
I usually like challenges to improve my performance; that’s why
I signed up for Spanish 3. I am trying to keep up with eating a
healthy diet and exercising, but that’s hard until I get into this new
routine. The gym is so far away, unfortunately. I wish I could dance;
I’d like to take the Latin dance class on Tuesday nights.
Goals for this Course
Our
goal for each of you is to help you use the Performance Model as presented here to become better
learners. Throughout the course, we will be presenting you with opportunities to improve your level of
learning in each of the four areas from the Performance Levels for Self-Growers. You will come to a
better understanding of your identity as a result of creating and adding to your Life Vision. As a result,
you will become aware of the context of your learning as well as the influence your personal factors have
on that learning. Each learning activity will serve to help you develop your learning skills, and through the
readings, you will deepen your knowledge base.
