Reading for my own interest and pleasure & practice using a Read Log
To see what medical information is being
published through popular sources like Prevention
magazine.
To see if there were any breakthroughs I hadn’t
heard of yet.
I’d also like to practice reading efficiently.
Attain basic knowledge of the medical
breakthroughs, enough to discuss them
superficially, at least.

I didn’t come across any new vocabulary. It’s a very popular source
and doesn’t include any technical or special terms.
Intro
1. Listing of breakthroughs
a. Links to additional information
b. Some symptom listings
2. Listing of upgrades (tools that got better)
3. Hopes and innovations
a. Links to additional information
4. Final overview with links for each
This magazine is written primarily for women, and
the breakthroughs highlighted focus on women in
the “sandwich” generation between children and
aging parents.
Questions:
What are considered medical breakthroughs?
How do some people get their medical
information?
Howmuch is “prevention” stressed in a
magazine with that name?
Is there anything I’d like to look into more
deeply?
