during the decade and 2) its rate was consistently higher than the other three
countries.

Report
Great Britain’s car thefts have consistently been the highest during the
decade. Both Canada and France had decreasing number of thefts in the
early 90s and then began to increase in the mid to late 90s. Sweden had the
lowest number of car thefts in 1990, but the number of thefts increased from
approximately 5 to 15 thousand over the course of the decade.
