1:
A student conducted a survey regarding how many hours, on average, students study each day of the
week. The survey data contains 50 responses from females and 50 responses from males.

After a doctor’s visit, your father told you that he needed to lose weight to improve his health. You
are working out with your dad to support his weight loss efforts. Over the past 12 weeks his weight
decreased from 310 pounds to 298 pounds. You want to chart your his progress to give him incentive
to keep up the good work.

In order to help with the movie selection for their multiplex, the local theater conducted a study to
determine the types of movies its patrons like best. The results showed that 20 percent preferred
comedy, 25 percent preferred action films, 25 percent preferred romance, 5 percent chose drama, and
20 percent like science fiction best.

Students in a statistics class received their assignment for the term project. The project’s success is
contingent on completing 6 different parts of the project, receiving feedback on each part, improving
