How to complete the activity
1. Review the discovery exercises you completed before class, consulting with your team, determine
five things your team learned about characterizing objects (establishing meta-data/key characteris-
tics).
2. Describe the different types of organizations and set structures defined in the discovery exercise and
the characteristics associated with each of these sets.
3. Discuss the different approaches members of your team took in setting up their file system for easy
future access.
4. As a team, identify at least three sets of objects and place into each set at least three objects with
several objects belonging to more than one set.
5. Justify why these objects were placed into the sets you defined.
6. Build a model of the universal set, set A, B, and C, complement of A, intersection of A and B, union
of B and C
7. Answer the Critical Thinking Questions.
8. Explain the organizational structure of the Quantitative Reasoning and Problem Solving companion
website.
9. Complete the remainder of this activity (from Demonstrate Your Understanding through Assessing
Your Performance) on your own, or as directed by your instructor.
