The Academy of Process Educators continues to increase its membership and work to drive transformational change in education by generating, disseminating, and archiving research based on the principles of Process Education, including the sponsorship of a yearly Process Education Conference. Academy membership is open to anyone passionate about Process Education and interested in engaging, supporting, and collaborating with a community of similarly dedicated educators. Visit the Academy online at: www.processeducation.org.

Mentoring

The Academy is working to expand and improve opportunities for mentoring among our members. Mentoring relationships may focus on different member interests depending upon your situation. These interests may range from learning more about the academy; to documenting, sharing, and publishing our scholarly work as process educators; to feedback about particular aspects of the learning environments we aspire to create; and more. Here we highlight two new ways to interact with Academy members and participate in mentoring relationships.

(1) The Academy Forum!

This new tool provides a medium for online mentoring and community support. Topics can range from small to complex. You might ask for feedback about a facilitation plan for a single activity in your class, or you might work with interested collaborators to design and carry out an entire research project investigating the efficacy of your latest classroom innovation. A number of Academy members are already using the forum to share ideas, discuss works in progress, and plan for the upcoming conference in June. You can participate too!

Simply go to the Academy website (www.processeducation.org), click on members and log in,
then go to the Forum and click Register. After that, you're in!

(2) A conference session you won't want to miss:
Publishing Your Process Education Efforts—A Collaborative Mentoring Session!

This session will introduce ideas about how the Academy can support your work and help you share your wonderful ideas. Time for one-on-one, in-session mentoring will be included. We will address ways to get started documenting and sharing your work whether that be through a poster presentation, local workshop, conference workshop or paper dialogue, etc.

Please don't hesitate to contact any of us on the Academy Board of Directors, if you have an interest in developing a mentoring relationship, the conference session, the forum, or even a general question about process education. We're happy to respond!
