ACTIVITY 14.1

                              Self-Growth Paper

                   Learning skills: being non-judgmental, committing to future, exploring context

   WHY

A self-growth paper is an analysis and synthesis of your areas of growth over this semester. It will help
you see how much you have learned in specific skill and methodology areas, and will help you create goals
for the future. To be truly useful, this paper must be thoughtful and detailed. The main audience for this
paper is you. Your instructor will read it to check on your progress, and perhaps assess and even evaluate
it as part of your final grade. However, this is your travel itinerary. You may be surprised at how much it
helps you reach your destinations!

   LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Appreciate how your performance has improved over the course of this class.

2. Set goals for the future based upon your assessment of your performance.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

Criterion #1: completeness of the paper
    Attributes:
    a. each component noted in the plan is included
    b. the paper should be a minimum of 5 pages in length
    c. goals for the future are included in the paper

Criterion #2: demonstrated ability to assess own performance
    Attributes:
    a. assessment is designed appropriately (Chapter 13)
    b. SII Method of Assessment is used appropriately (Chapters 7 and 13)

Criterion #3: level of thought and analysis
    Attributes:
    a. assessments are evidence-driven (rely upon evidence), using specific examples from previous
         assessments, writing assignments, and the Life Vision Portfolio

    b. achieves at least Level 3: Guide/Coach on the Levels of Assessor Performance rubric (Chapter 13)

    c. demonstrate at least Level 2: Comprehension of Key Issues on the Levels of Assessment rubric
         (Chapter 7)
